As the breadwinner of her family, Ester has always taken a go-getter approach to life. Together with her mother and five siblings have lived in constant fear of having no place to live; the family hops from one motel to another to avoid nights on the street. Ester shares the painful childhood memory that has shaped her identity as a Latin American woman and her understanding of how the world perceives her as such.

Gio, a foster youth, shares his family story, hopes, and dreams with maturity and grit, making you overlook that he is only 18. Despite being scattered across thestreets of San Diego, his family of nine remains tightly knit, continuously offering supportand guidance to one another. Today, Gio is determined to lift his family out ofhouselessness by training diligently with his father to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a professional boxer.
